Fun Asia Expo 2026 returned to Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran, and once again it lived up to its reputation as Southeast Asia's biggest platform for the amusement, theme park, water park, and family entertainment centre (FEC) industry.
Two days on the show floor for the CSML team meant getting a good pulse check on where the industry is headed.
Here's what stood out to us this year.
The Bowling Trends CSML Spotted at Fun Asia Expo 2026
FEC Trends We're Watching Closely
1. Data is running the floor
Revenue management and guest analytics tools were everywhere this year. Our Sync Scoring system is giving operators real visibility into lane utilisation, peak hours, and spend per guest — insights that do not remain guesswork anymore.
2. Eatertainment is the new buzz word
The line between "experiential dining" and "restaurant" continues to blur. Buyers at the expo weren't just asking about lanes and pinsetters — they wanted to know how bowling, food, and beverage could sit in the same footprint and drive each other's revenue.
3. Space efficiency is now a design brief, not an afterthought
With mall rents and prime real estate at a premium across Jakarta, Singapore, Bali and Kuala Lumpur, operators are actively asking for smaller-footprint attractions that don't compromise on guest experience. Compact bowling, mini-golf, and hybrid arcade-and-bowling zones were among the most-discussed formats on the floor.
4. Hotels and resorts are entering the entertainment conversation
This was one of the clearest shifts we noticed this year — hospitality groups showing up not just as F&B buyers but as entertainment buyers. Resorts and integrated hotel developments across Southeast Asia are actively looking to add indoor attractions as guest amenities, which is opening up an entirely new category of venue for bowling.
Duckpin Social: A Compact Concept Built for Hospitality
If there was one product conversation that came up again and again at our booth, it was Duckpin Social — Brunswick's compact take on bowling that fits into roughly a third of the space a traditional ten-pin lane needs.
A few reasons it's resonating with hospitality buyers is: Small footprint, big impact, lower operational overhead and custom built for F&B-led venues. That's the model we're excited to bring into Southeast Asia: hotels, resorts, and F&B-led developments that want a genuine entertainment anchor without needing the real estate a traditional bowling centre demands.
If you're planning a new FEC, hotel amenity, or hospitality-led entertainment concept in Indonesia, Singapore, or Malaysia, our team would love to talk through what a compact bowling format could look like for your space. Connect with our team.
