Import Executive

Job Summary: 
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Import Executive to handle end-to-end import operations. The 
candidate will be responsible for managing shipment documentation, coordinating with international suppliers and 
logistics partners, ensuring regulatory compliance, and facilitating smooth customs clearance. The role requires 
strong coordination skills, accuracy in documentation, and the ability to manage multiple shipments 
simultaneously. 


Key Responsibilities: 
• Manage complete import documentation, including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/Airway Bill, Bill of Entry (BOE), Certificate of Origin, and other regulatory documents. 
• Coordinate closely with freight forwarders, Custom House Agents (CHA), shipping lines, and transporters for timely shipment movement and clearance. 
• Monitor shipment schedules, track consignments, and proactively resolve delays or discrepancies. 
• Ensure accurate calculation and verification of customs duties, taxes, and other import-related charges. 
• Liaise with banks for import payments, LC documentation, and foreign remittances where applicable. 
• Maintain updated records of import transactions, shipment details, and compliance documents for audit purposes. 
• Ensure adherence to customs laws, DGFT guidelines, and other statutory requirements. 
• Coordinate internally with procurement, finance, and warehouse teams for smooth receipt and 
documentation of imported goods. 
• Prepare MIS reports related to shipment status, costing, and duty structure as required by management. 


Requirements: 
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 
• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in import operations or international logistics. 
• Strong knowledge of customs procedures, import regulations, and documentation requirements. 
• Familiarity with DGFT regulations, HS codes, duty structures, and compliance processes. 
• Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables preferred). 
• Good communication skills for coordinating with overseas suppliers and internal stakeholders. 
• Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to work under deadlines. 
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle shipment discrepancies efficiently.
